About

Around The Horn Brewing Company is a craft brewery and taproom in Groveland, a natural stop along Highway 120 on the way to Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance. It carries a 4.7-star rating across 294 reviews, with regulars praising the beer and the staff in equal measure.

What to expect

The tap list runs from easy-drinking lagers to more adventurous batches, alongside house-made hard seltzers (a cherry pomegranate version gets specific praise) that reviewers call a solid option for gluten-free drinkers. In warmer months the brewery pours beer slushies, plus non-alcoholic slushies for kids, which reviewers note makes it one of the more kid-friendly taprooms around. Food comes from an on-site kitchen partner, with tacos, poke, salads, sandwiches (the Cuban stands out), mac and cheese, and loaded hot dogs.

Good to know

  • Hours: open daily except Wednesday, with a shorter 4–9 PM window on Tuesdays and 11:30 AM–9 PM the rest of the week
  • Tuesday nights: bingo and trivia with prizes for winners, and outside food is welcome that night
  • Price level: moderate — one reviewer flagged the $12.50 loaded hot dog as pricey for the setting, though noted it was fresh

The brewery also hosts ticketed private events, so it's worth calling ahead if you're planning a visit around one: (209) 436-9919.

We had lunch at this restaurant. There was a game on inside, so we sat outside. We had to go inside to weigh in because the online order only worked with an American number. Given the crowd inside, we waited at least 20-30 minutes, unfortunately.

Amazing beers for all sorts of persnickety patrons (and an in house seltzer for the lower carb folks). And for a sweet fix they also have beer slushies (summer), fruit beers, and non-alcoholic slushies for the kids. Kid friendly. Gateway handles their menu and they have tacos, poke, salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese. Great staff. Didn't throw me out when I said I prefer wine (or hefeweizen). Tuesday Bingo night and trivia night are great too and offer rewards for winners: though trying to get my child to bingo on an ampersand shape in four directions was a bit challenging. BYO food on tuesdays!
