About

Bar 1899 is the casual beer-and-cocktail stop inside Curry Village, a no-frills indoor-outdoor bar built for campground crowds who want a cold drink and a seat after a day on the trail. It sits right next to the Pizza Deck and pulls a steady rotation of Yosemite visitors passing through Curry Village all summer. With a 3.8-star rating across 132 reviews, it's popular enough that lines form during peak season, but the drinks keep people coming back.

What to Order

The drink list is the real draw here: cold draft beer — including the Camp Curry Red Ale — and cocktails like the strawberry margarita. On the food side, reviewers most often recommend the chicken wings and the chicken sandwich. Burgers, salads, and fries get more mixed reviews, with some visitors noting small fry portions and pricey salads. If you're hungry and picky, plan on the wings and a drink rather than a full meal.

Great bar staff! Made us some great, cold, Palomas over the past couple nights. Didn’t eat anything except the salad and it’s great and HUGE.

Service was friendly, quick, and tbe burger was absolutely delicious. Went around 6pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crazy! Much better experience than the Coffee Corner in the morning.

On July 7th there was a young caucasian girl with short light brown hair, wearing a hat by the salad bar assisting another older heavyset lady. They were employees there who were checking the temperature at the salad bar I believe that’s what they were doing. The older lady was very sweet, but the young girl who was helping her was the rudest person we’ve ever met!! She told my sister-in-law who was trying to get some salad, “not to touch her” No one touched her. We were just trying to get some salad. She seemed like she was miserable and very unhappy at her job. People like her should NOT be working in places like this.

I was in Yosemite for 3 days and when I stumbled upon this bar it made my day even better. Hot chicken wings and cold beer really hot the spot. And staff are super friendly. I got a recommendation for a stop on my road trip in Big Sur that I am excited to try. It is small and there might be a line but they have a great team and get your order ready quickly. Will be back next time I visit the park.
