The Mountain Room Lounge

A fireplace, a full bar, and no reservation needed at Yosemite Lodge

Yosemite Valley, CA

About

The Mountain Room Lounge is the walk-in bar at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in Yosemite Valley — a calm room with a fireplace and seasonal patio, pouring draft beer and cocktails alongside casual bar fare for anyone who's just come off the trail and wants a drink without a reservation.

No Reservation, First-Come Seating

Unlike the adjacent Mountain Room restaurant, the Lounge doesn't take reservations — tables are first-come, first-served. That makes it the practical backup when the restaurant is booked solid, though it also means peak-season evenings can mean a short wait at the bar before a table opens up.

What to Expect

The menu leans casual — burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pub-style plates — alongside a full bar. Reviewers describe it as a relaxed, low-key spot to unwind after a day of hiking rather than a destination meal, so go in with casual expectations and you'll get a convenient stop inside the park.

The food are overpriced and do NOT taste good. I ordered 1. beast chili with 3 kinds of meat, all I can taste is 3 kinds of salty beans. 2. Chicken thigh entree, tastes as dry as chicken breast, mashed potatoes tastes like oily grits. I know tourists site food is overpriced, but this leave me speechless. The only thing praisable is the vibe.

I wish I wouldn’t have gone here. The food was super underwhelming especially considering the cost. The menu has like 4 items, and between my group we ordered everything. Pretty much everything was subpar. Maybe this is a decent place to grab a drink and hangout, but I don’t recommend the food at all.

The staff member being rude and crying about there being loads of people in the bar because the World Cup was on needs to rein it in. Your job is literally to serve people at the bar. Ruined my experience and was openly rude to a number of customers including myself.
