What to Expect

Reviewers describe a genuinely personal stay rather than a standard hotel experience. John cooks breakfast to order — guests mention fresh eggs, thick-cut bacon, fruit, and toast, with the kitchen drawing on herbs and chicken eggs raised on the property itself. The home is furnished with antiques and natural materials, and its backyard sits far enough from town lights that guests recommend it for stargazing. Multiple reviewers describe the hosts going out of their way to accommodate guests, including adjusting meals around dietary needs or illness. Several guests mention returning after a first visit, including one who stayed during a snowy New Year's holiday and said they'd be back in spring.

We stayed here for our Yosemite trip. Great stay with kind and knowledgeable hosts. The mattress was comfortable, and the delicious breakfast they prepared was the cherry on top. We enjoyed great conversations with them. Since it’s in a remote area, we were able to view the stars in the big backyard. The stay felt homey and unique, as if we were invited to stay at a family’s house. 100% recommend this place if you plan to stay in Mariposa and Yosemite.

I paid the deposit for a 2-night's stay and mentioned that I was vegan and asked whether that could be accommodated -- I even offered to bring my own food. The owner did not respond to the initial message in the booking and did not respond until I contacted them from Air BnB. Katharine was rude and dismissive in her emails and then canceled our reservation without giving a reason. We are traveling to celebrate the end of chemotherapy for me after breast cancer and are now left having to find another place to stay. STAY AWAY. The owners are unscrupulous and don't care about their guests, only taking their money.
